Wireless Regulatory Standards

CE, CE-RED
- The Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU entered into application on 13 June 2016. CE RED sets the regulatory framework for placing radio equipment on the market in EU member countries. It broadens the regulatory scope to all devices that transmit or receive radio waves. Some exceptions to the regulation do apply with regard to public-safety, government and some naval & aeronautical applications.

FCC
- The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulates devices capable of emitting radio frequency energy which may cause interference to radio services for other devices in the frequency range of 9 kHz to 3000 GHz. Regulation and qualification applies to all radio transmitters / emitters whether incidental, unintentional, intentional or operating in licensed radio frequencies.
