IoTize's add-on telemetry device seamlessly attaches to mechanical water and gas meters. Using an image sensor and LPWAN technology, it reads the meter's display, extracts data, and transmits it wirelessly to a remote monitoring platform. The solution provides :

How the Digital Telemetry Add-On Works

1. Capture – The module's camera captures a photo of the meter display, with built-in LED lighting to ensure dial rendering that is adequate for data extraction.

2. Recognition – The device's onboard processor runs an energy-efficient algorithm to recognize the digits on the meter and transform these to easily transmittable data.

3. Transmission – Data is transmitted via LPWAN via protocols that may include LoRa, Sigfox, or Wireless M-Bus.

4. NFC Interaction – On-site users can connect a smartphone app to the meter for device configuration or periodic data collection.
